Renee Riffle McGinnis, PT, DPT, COMT, currently holds the rank of Assistant Professor and is the Director of Physical Therapy Residency Education at West Virginia University. She was recognized as an Orthopedic Certified Specialist by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties in 2007 and has maintained her certification since that time. In 2023, she completed the requirements to become a Certified Primary Spine Practitioner. At Pierpont Community and Technical College Physical Therapist Assistant program, she was an Assistant Professor and Academic Coordinator of Clinical Education from 2016 to 2017. She joined the Division of Physical Therapy at WVU as a full-time faculty member in July of 2017. Her main responsibilities include residency program administration, coordination of the orthopedic residency curriculum, chair of the Musculoskeletal Track, coordination of all three orthopedic courses, and resident and clinical faculty mentoring. Dr. McGinnis is a PhD candidate within the School of Public Health with a Social and Behavioral Science emphasis. Her dissertation is on the association of temporomandibular joint pain, sleep, and quality of life.

I am honored to be a candidate for the position of nominating committee with APTA-WV. Over the years, I have been actively involved with the chapter, serving on the nominating committee and as chapter secretary, which has deepened my understanding and commitment to our professional community and the patients we serve.
