John Thomas, SPT

SSIG President

John Thomas is a third-year student in the Doctor of Physical Therapy program at West Virginia University. John graduated Magna Cum Laude from West Virginia University in May of 2022 with a B.S. in Exercise Physiology. During his undergraduate years, he served as Vice President of the Pre-PT Club, Social Media and Public Relations chair of the WVU Club Powerlifting Team, as well as participated in a mentorship program within the WVU Honors College, where he received leadership training, mentored first-year students, and held informal weekly lectures.

John is a two-year attendee of the APTA-WV Student Leadership Academy and Serves as Vice President of the WVU DPT Class of 2025.  He believes that the leadership and problem-solving skills he has gained from these experiences will be invaluable to the group.  He is optimistic about the future of APTA-WV, and aims to increase student engagement in the chapter, as well as improve the chapter by building upon the hard work of the people before him. He is extremely grateful for your consideration for president of the APTA-WV SSIG and looks forward to collaborating with members of the profession, and of the board, to help propel forward the profession of physical therapy across the state of WV.
