Laura Stephens, PT, DPT, EdD is an Assistant Professor at Marshall University School of Physical Therapy. After obtaining her physical therapy degree from West Virginia University in 2012, she practiced in Kentucky for six years and obtained ABPTS Neurological Clinical Specialist certification in 2017. Since returning to West Virginia in 2018, she has continued to see patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings. She completed her EdD in Leadership Studies in 2022 from Marshall University and continues to focus on student leadership development through research and as faculty coordinator of the SOPT’s pro bono clinic. Dr. Stephens has served the WV-APTA as a member of the Education Committee since 2018 and has completed national service with the Academy of Neurological Physical Therapy’s Brain Injury SIG and CSM Planning Committee. She is excited for the opportunity to represent West Virginia physical therapists in the APTA House of Delegates.
