Marrina Brown, PT, DPT

Nominating Committee

Marrina Brown earned her DPT this year from Marshall University. While at Marshall University, she was on the student board for the school’s Pro-Bono clinic MUVIT, which provides physical therapy services to those in the community who are uninsured or have used up all their physical therapy visits. She also served consecutively as the APTA-WV SSIG secretary and president and has worked to give PTA and PT students access to various resources, including professional development, community service, and personal finance. While in school she volunteered in services to communities of dancers and runners on core stability, women and men on pelvic health in CrossFit, and shoulder anatomy/mechanics at a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu gym. Upon graduation, she earned the award from Marshall University for Outstanding Service and Citizenship. She hopes to continue to serve West Virginia by joining the Nominating Committee on the WVBOPT. Marrina is driven to serve on the board and be active in her role because she realizes and sees forward and wants the physical therapy profession in this state to keep the forward moving momentum. Marrina believes being on the Nominating Committee is important because it’s how we can help supply the volunteers in this wonderful state to power the chapter to new heights.
