Samantha Johnson

SSIG President

Samantha Johnson is a second-year student at the Doctor of Physical Therapy Program at Marshall University. Samantha received her B.S. in Kinesiology at the College of William and Mary in 2018. She played soccer throughout college and was able to continue that passion as a coach after graduation. Samantha worked as a lead physical therapy technician, which further enhanced her desire to help people recover their independence through movement. She currently holds positions as her APTA class liaison and a student board member for the Marshall PT pro bono clinic. Additionally, she is participating for her second year in the AHEC Scholars Program, a program that prepares healthcare workers to work interprofessionally in a rural environment. She enjoys volunteering in her community and working out at her local CrossFit gym in her free time. Samantha looks forward to the chance of representing the West Virginia physical therapy students and to furthering the physical therapy profession as president of APTA-WV SSIG. Samantha aims to organize and structure the WV SSIG so that the group can operate maximally to connect West Virginia physical therapy programs, provide mentorship, create opportunities, and disseminate information to those students. Samantha appreciates your consideration of her as president of APTA-WV SSIG.
