I am announcing my desire to fulfill the duties of President Elect for the WV Chapter of the APTA for the upcoming term. I have truly enjoyed being Vice President the last couple of years, but it has only fueled a desire to continue to be more involved advocating and working for our profession. I am thankful to work for a company (First Settlement Physical Therapy) and be married to a wife that doesn’t mind the extra hours a volunteer position such as this requires. I attended Ohio University from 2006-2010, majoring in Exercise Physiology and minoring in Psychology, followed by achieving my DPT from Ohio University in 2013. I was fortunate enough to take my dream job working for First Settlement Physical Therapy as a staff PT, then Clinic Director, then the company’s first Regional Director, and most recently the company’s first COO. I have lived in the greater Charleston area going on 9 years but have travelled much of the state and country in my role as VP, with FSPT, or as an active member in several committees with APTQI (the Alliance for Physical Therapy Quality and Innovation). While in PT school I attended every conference or meeting I could, both at a local
chapter or state level or at the national level and was a member of many committees. More recently, I have jumped in with both feet to APTA WV the last couple of years as VP as well as helping in any way I can such as participating on the Private Practice Committee when they put out the call for more member participation. In my VP role I have been the liaison to the WVBOPT and the SSIG, have been active in advocating for the profession at the state level, interacting with the various PT and PTA programs in the state, leading the Student Leadership Academy, and interacting on a near daily basis with many of our members. I would be excited and honored to be considered for the President Elect position for the WV Chapter of the APTA.
